I have been copy-editing and proofreading various types of publications for over three decades. In addition to general publications, I have reviewed cookbooks, materials for Latin and ancient Greek instruction, and general texts relating to language and linguistics.
I bring to these endeavors my experience as a contributing editor for The American Heritage Dictionary, 3rd edition, as well as my many years teaching Latin, ancient Greek, English, and linguistics. I have a deep and thorough understanding of grammar, and have instructed many students on the art of sentence and paragraph composition. I also remind students to ask someone else to review their work — it’s extremely difficult to review one’s own work!
I am extremely detail-oriented, and when I work with a text, I follow any style manual as requested — whether it uses the Oxford comma or not! I can also check for layout, cross-references, and factual errors if needed.
I will work in your preferred format, whether on hard copy or on computer files.
